Pass It Forward

Today I received this lovely package in the post from Mel's PIF.
So now its my turn and I have the three sets of PIF Candy shown below to give to the first three people to leave a comment on this post, each of you will receive one of these little packs of papers and embellishments.

The rules for PIF are that in return for my PIF Candy you must then do the same, that is arrange Candy for three lucky bloggers and then they do the same, hence the name 'Pass It Forward'

Happily Ever After

For this card I've used the Elzybells stamp Knight and Princess, Making Memories papers from Multipack Maddi, yes I actually managed to make myself cut up the papers instead of just admiring them and putting them away again for 'something special'. flowers are prima, sentiment says happily ever after and has been coated with gloss which is why it doesn't show up well in the photo, as is the knights sword and shield. The circles are cut using nestabilities, I have punched a hole in each of the scallops.

This is my second post of the evening so please be sure to take at look at Daniels card in the post below.

Daniels card

Here is the card I have made for Daniel, Daniel has Aspbergers Syndrome and Claire (his mum) had the lovely idea to ask fellow crafters to send him a birthday card for his 11th birthday. You can find Claire's blog here. I hope Claire doesn't mind but I also put a little pressie in with the card, how cute is this monkey keyring! Not sure if its what an 11yr old boy would like but I have no clue about anything children are into these days! Claire I will post it tomorrow (as I forgot to take it with me to work today-oops)
Also Elaine has some blog candy on her blog so go check it out.

My Sweet Lili

Now that I know its arrived I can post on here the card that I sent Laura as a little surprise.
I used my new Sarah Kay My Sweet Lili stamp, isn't she just the cutest! The papers are from Shabby Princess, the flowers are prima daisy crazy and the swirl is Sizzix.

I made a pocket for the inside to hold some stamped images.
I love the unusual colours of these papers, I had my pink pen in hand ready to colour the image and just thought to myself , you know what pink for this image is so obvious, I think I'll do something different, and this was the result. Do you ever make a card and not want to part with it? I think I may have to make another one of these to decorate my craft room!
More news on the craft magazine article, unfortunately the deadline was just to close for me to contribute to the next edition but I have been told I will be put forward for the edition after that, so fingers crossed, in the mean time I'm looking forward to getting my sugarnellie stamps and having a play with them.

Calendar 2009 July

Just a quick post as I'm waiting for dinner to cook and don't want to burn it! Only one month for you today as I've not started August yet.

July

As you have seen from my other cards on my blog I love buttons and use them in the centre of flowers on a lot of my cards, this time I went button crazy and used them all down the side of this page.

* Penny Black Water Lily Skiing
* Prima Hydrangea flowers
* Buttons from various suppliers
* Papers from a download kit by A Langpap

I'm going to be busy this week as I have a short deadline for a magazine page I have to write and make items for, so sorry if I neglect my blog. I'm so nervous about doing it and still cant quite believe it!

Calendar 2009 May and June

I have decided to continue to upload the pages of my calendar for you to see but please do not copy my work or claim my ideas as your own. I have no problem with fellow crafters using my idea of making a calendar with the acrylic album, heck it seems like they are perfectly designed for this, but please change it enough to make it your own, especially if you are going to use the same papers and lay out. Also my words are subject to copyright so do not copy how I have described my work either, Thank you.

Right now that's out the way here are the next two pages:
May

* Penny Black Uplifting Occasion stamp (received in a image swap) coloured with whispers pens
* Papers from a scrapbook kit but I threw the packaging away so don't know who they are by -sorry!
* Flowers are prima Daisy Crazy and Got Flowers
* Sizzix Skittle Dee Do alphabet extended cuts die
* Ribbon from Dovecraft

June

* Penny Black Ladies Devine stamp coloured with whispers brush markers
* Papers downloaded from a digi kit
* Large flower is hand cut, smaller ones are from xcut punch, embossed with cuttlebug swiss dots folder, as is the band across the middle.
* Sizzix Rat a Tat alphabet
* Swirls cut using Sizzix Swirly extended cuts die

Tilda with Rose

I've managed to use my new Tilda stamp in between finishing my calendar. Speaking of which I've done July and am just finishing June off. I have seen some others have been inspired by mine and had a go at one too, I suppose they do say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I'm really pleased with how mine has turned out so far. I'm thinking about making a CD case one for my desk at work after this one.

Anyway back to the card. I have used the new Tilda with Rose (I think its called that) stamp from Magnolia, she is soooo sweet! I coloured her with whispers pens and am really pleased at how the colouring turned out, normally I have such trouble colouring in hair but I think this one looks ok. The papers are from Summertime Designs as always! Flowers are Prima Hydrangeas, swirls are from Sizzix Swirly die, sentiment is from bekahs-escape2scrapland and says 'friends are kisses blown to us by angles'.
I may have some exciting news coming up after a very surprising email from a craft magazine, but I'll let you know about that if and when something happens- watch this space!

Funky Fairy's and Juliet have some blog candy up for grabs, as does Pauline and for her challenge you have to make a card to celebrate something so this card is to celebrate friendship.

Friendship card

I had a great afternoon crafting yesterday after a morning shopping with my mum. I managed to make the image/card swap cards I needed to.

I made this card for my image swap partner. The image swaps have now been banned from the docrafts forum, which I am quite sad about as I received some lovely cards and images from fellow members, one of whom 'made' me go and buy some Tilda stamps after sending me some in a swap- I'm blaming you for my recent purchases Laura!!!

I used my new (and first ever) Tilda with sunflower stamp. The papers are from a kit called Homespun by A Tanabe and was downloaded a while ago, unfortunately i cannot find a link for it now. Flowers are prima daisy's, the leaves are from a grass punch by woodware which I got recently and can see I'll be using a lot. The sentiment is from bekahs-escape2scrapland and the ribbon is from chatterbox.
Here are some close ups

Inside I have made a pocket running along the bottom to hold teh stamped images.
I also made a card as a little surprise for a crafty friend from the docrafts forum, so I can't post a picture until she has received it as I don't want to ruin the surprise.
I'm trying to finish the next two months of my calendar but I seem to have lost all inspiration for it at the moment!

Penny Black Christmas

I have a day off work today so am spending the afternoon crafting, I have some friendship/ image swaps cards to make so will try and finish those off, sorry if you are waiting for a swap from me, I promise I haven't forgotten about you!

I have still not done the next two months of my calendar yet, I have made a start on March but I just cant seem to get it right, I'll have to have a think about it and come back to it.

In the mean time here is another Christmas card I've made.
The image is from Penny Black and is called Wishes For Kisses. The papers are are from Shabby Princess 2006 Seasonal Sampler, circles are cut with nestabilities dies. The base flowers I made myself and added primas and papermania ones on top. The ribbon in the corner has a pearly bead thing on top under the bow.

I got this award from Laura and Caroline today, thanks for thinking of me girls its very nice of you.

I'd like to pass it on to Nessie, Michele, Michele, Claire, Stacey and Lisa

There is also some lovely blog candy on Natalie's blog so go check it out.

Ice Skating Snowman

Good afternoon to you all and thanks for dropping by.

I have made this card for the a spoon full of sugar sketch challenge

I used papers from the nitwits Winter Wishes Collection. The image is from PCCrafter Cold Hands Warm Heart2 collection by Laurie Furnell, watercoloured with whispers pens and mounted on nesties scalloped and plain circles.

I also just want to say how impressed I am with the service from the glitter pot I ordered a papermania acrylic album yesterday lunch time and its arrived this morning! I am so surprised its here already! I'm going to use the album to make a calendar for myself, and will upload pictures when I complete each month.

More Christmas Cards

Here are two more Christmas cards I've made I'm slowly getting there! I might even have them all done in time for Christmas this year!

They are both made with images from Shelly Comiskey's Santa's Helpers download from PC Crafter, I love these images so much, her designs are also used in whipper snapper stamps but its much cheaper to buy the pc crafter ones. I printed them in black and white line drawing format and watercoloured with Whispers pens. I haven't had a problem with the printed ink running and did used to use hairspray to 'set' the ink, but I forgot to on these and it didn't seem to make any difference I didn't think.

The one directly below is another one cut from a scalloped circle nestabilities die on a folded card. The edges have been glittered with iridescent glitter glue, and the wings with doodlebug sugar coating. The background card is from DCWV and has been embossed with the snowflakes cuttlebug embossing folder and distressed with a nail buffer.

The next one has been made with papers from Summertime Designs Winter Gifts Kit, snowflakes are from xcut punches and the Christmas tree button is from doodlebug.

I've been tagged again, this time by Gayle, Miranda and Erin since I was not tagged that long ago by Pauline I will direct you to the post here I'm really not that interesting honest! Sorry but I can't think of 7 more things about me, let alone interesting things!

My mum has lent me her camera so until I can convince Tristan (my fella) to let me have his one again I will commandeer hers, so I can hopefully keep my blog up to date.

Christmas Comes Early

I thought I'd upload a Christmas card today as I have been trying to make a start on them early this year (this is early for me).
I used Penny Black's Xmouse Ornament stamp which i got for £3.50 at Ally Pally, what a bargain! Cuttlebug snowflake embossing folder on DCWV card stock then I went over the embossed part with a nail buffer so the white core shows through. Xcut and fiskars snowflake punches coated in doodlebug sugar coating and with a gem in the middle. I also glittered around the edge of the card with glitter glue.
I think I'll make these little nesties cards for my work friends this year.

Dad's Birthday Card

Its my dad's birthday on the 18th and I'm actually organised for once, well I haven't actually bought him a present yet, but I have made his card. I don't think my dads into blog hopping so there is no danger of him seeing it.

I hope He doesn't take offence, and I'm pretty sure he wont. It says 'you know you're old when...' '...there are more candles than cake!'

The stamp is called Murry with cake and is from Rubberneckers. The sentiment is computer generated, card and paper are from DCWV Scrapbook kit in a stack- birthday. Letters are traced onto card from chipboard and glittered with sugar coating from doodlebug.

Once again I must say thank you to everyone who left comments on my last card, its much appreciated! x
