Pinky and Porky

I can now show you the anniversary card I made for my mum and dad, I couldn't post it before as my mum visits my blog at least daily (I'm sure she's checking up on me!) we had a lovely family meal out and I'm very proud of the fact they have been together for 33 years.
I used the Penny Black stamp Pinky and Porky, an Anita's papers pack, a woodware punch, hoobycraft ribbon, WOJ sentiment stamp and edged it all with dots of pink liquid pearls.
For the inside I used the same papers and a cuttlebug heart die again with liquid pearls.

What is it with valentines challenges at this time of year??? As I'm sure your aware from previous posts I am currently single at the moment, so why would I want to make half a dozen love/ valentines cards just to remind me that I'm single?? Just to leave them sitting in a box beside me mocking my single existence?? I enjoy entering challenges and know of 3 at the moment that have a 'love' theme, how many will it be in a week or two's time? I guess I'll just have to bypass these challenges until they return to normal- am I alone in thinking this or is everyone a 'happy couple'??

Gorgeous card Sarah. I bet your mum & dad loved it! I am all loved up (probably much to your disgrace :-)) but I only need one Valentine's card! So I can agree with you that there are too many valentine / love challeneges. You could do what I have done though and make some love cards for friends. I have used the new leanne ellis 'luvvy' on several cards and just used sentiments appropriate for friends.

Fab anniversary card Sarah....Love Pinky & Porky, bet your Mum & Dad did too?
I only need 1 Valentine's card too, Bobby & I are married 17 years this coming Sept!
I've offered to make cards for Robbie & Rory to send but as yet they are NOT sure if they are sending any (Lol)
Thats a nice idea that Vicky has - Making love cards for friends?
Need to ask cos I'm desperate to know.....Did your brother & his fiancee love the wedding invitations? Wbs - Mar x

Hi sarah.love the card such a fab image!I have been with my boyfriend 10 yrs this april but there's nothing wrong with being single!!!Enjoy it and be proud 'love' comes in many shapes and forms so you don't have to make a lovey dovey card.Fortunately i sell my card's but the people i sell to don't always want cute and lovey dovey either.hugs amanda xx

Hi Sarah, love the card you've made for your mom and dad, I'll bet they loved it.

My hubby and I have been married for 28 years this year, but we don't do Valentine's day (neither of us are the romantic type), so I won't be joining in with the Valentine's challenges. Sue.x

Gorgeous card Sarah, bet your mom and dad loved it. I agree with you on the valentines cards I only need one for my Hubby so the rest like you said would sit in a box unless I could sell them.

ps Thanks so much for helping my little friend Fern, hope you agree with me that she has some great potential.

I have been trying to make "love " cards that I can use for other things eg. love to friends too ...even if I weren't married, what crafter has got enough time to have several men on the go for Valentine's cards lol???

er ... not sure if the previous comment came out right lol! (red face!) what I meant was .... regardless of one's marital/partnership status the amount of love/Valentine's challenges does get a bit much ..ie I've heard people joking about having to find ane xtra bloke to send them to. Sorry if it makes you feel miserable right now.... I'm sure you'll find someone when the time is right. Some challenges make me feel wistful too eg. Mother's Day cos my mum is v poorly ... and "get well soon". I guess different challenges get to us at different times. Anyhow .. more time for you right now to make more of your fab card creations :-) Take care and keep warm with all that snow you've got
