Baby Girl

Here is a baby girl card I have made for my brothers fiance's sister who had a girl on Wednesday morning named Emily Louise, I got the sketch from the Mothers & Daughters Challenge Blog. I hope they don't mind that I've used their layout.

The papers are a free download from 2 peas in a bucket, the elephant and star are stickers from a scrapbook set I got in poundland and the ribbon is dovecraft. Again the scanner has changed what the colour of the brads and elephants feet look like, they are not so bright in real life. I cant wait for Tristan to come back from his holiday so I can borrow his camera again... oh and of course because I miss him!

Ribbon Storage

My dad came round yesterday and put up my pole to hang my baskets from, so i spent the evening wrapping my ribbon around old toilet rolls! I'm so pleased with how it turned out.
Here is a close up of the toilet rolls idea, i just wrapped the length of ribbon around and secured with a piece of masking tape to hold it, they fit in the baskets perfectly! (sorry about the blurry image, my camera is proper rubbish!) Here is some pictures of the storage jars I got at Ikea to hold gromlets, buttons and small embellishments.
No cards to upload today, I have to make some baby girl cards as my brothers fiance's sister has just had a baby girl, so I''l be doing that tonight.

Also thanks to everyone who has left comments or visited my blog, I cant believe I've gone international! I've had visitors from Canada, Spain, Ireland, America, Slovakia and of course the good old UK, its certainly improved my knowledge of geography!

Been using the scanner and papertake weekly challenge

So seeing as I'm not going to have a camera to photo my cards I have been trying to scan the one I made today to see if its possible, I used to scan all my cards until I got to use Tristan's camera but you don't get the same result as when they are photographed, they lose some of the dimension and look quite flat. But this is the end result:

I made it for the papertake weekly challenge its my first time doing the challenges and I had such fun making this card I will certainly participate in future ones! This week the challenge is to use stitching on your project so I have stamped a paisley Anita's stamp with versamark (which doesn't show up too well in the picture but can be seen in real life) and hand stitched inside the outer lines with embroidery thread to make a background pattern, then added a pink bead to the centers (it shows up purple in the scanned image but it real life it is pink and does match- honest!). The image is again from PC Crafter Country Mice by Laurie Furnell- I cant stop using these cute images! Watercoloured with whispers pens, nestabilities cricles glittered at the edges with iridescent glitter glue, prima and papermania flowers, chip board leaves. I was thinking it needed something in the top right hand corner but looking at it now I think that would make it too crowded- What do you think? x

Over on her blog, Inky and Scrappy, Jamie is giving away some fab Blog candy, you can find it here

No Camera

My boyfriend has gone on holiday to Ibiza with his friends for 10 days and taken his digital camera with him, mine is worse than useless at taking pictures of my cards so I'll have to wait till he comes home to upload my recent creations. In the mean time here's a card I had previously photographed.
I used the pennyblack stamp cheesecake parade a stamped happy birthday sentiment, papers from a scrapbook kit by Brenda Pinnick, prima flowers, die cut swirls and ribbon from my stash. This is the inside:
Thanks for looking! x

Ballerina card

I had a lovely bank holiday weekend visiting my brother and his fiance in Wales, I got to go to The Range which I've heard about on the do crafts forum but we don't have any down here. I got 2 Making Memories 24 sheet 12x12 paper pads that had been reduced from £9.99 to £2.49 and one DCWV 72 sheet 12x12 paper pad reduced from £9.99 to £3.99 so that made my weekend! I also go a pack of purple ribbons and a flower punch. I also went to Ikea whilst I was there and got some more storage jars for my buttons and bits and a rail with 5 baskets hanging from it that will hopefully store my ribbons, I just have to wait for my dad to come round with his drill to put it up for me, I did ask to borrow the drill to do it myself but I don't think he trusts me with it (I cant think why!)

Here's a quick ballerina card I've made with my whipper snappers Ballet Brielle stamp, stamped on to watercolour paper coloured with whispers pens, cuttlebugged background panels with swiss dots folder and used nesties for the center circles.

water coloured it with whispers pens, papers from http://www.shabbyprincess.com/

Also decorated the inside, computer generated sentiment. comments welcome.

I'm off to Wales for the weekend to see my brother and his fiance. Be back Monday, have a good bank holiday weekend everyone! x

A Load Of Old Pickle competition entry

Over on Kerry's blog A Load Of Old Pickle she currently has a blog candy competition for reaching 10,000 hits, well done to her for achieving that! The competition is to create any new crafty project using ribbon, well as soon as i saw this challenge my thoughts turned to another blog I'd seen indigo studio with these amazing ribbon blossoms on that I wanted to try out, unfortunately the tutorial has sadly been taken off due to unwelcome comments, but I have tried to make my own version of them on my card for Kerry's blog candy.
Here's a close up of the ribbon blossom, I used 5 different types of ribbon and matched the ribbon running across the card to it.

It also gave me a chance to use my new pc crafter images but instead of using the coloured image i printed it on card in black and white and water coloured it myself using my whispers pens, this image is from the Country Mice collection by Laurie Furnell, the images are so sweet! I was worried that the printer ink would run when I applied the watercolour to it but found that as long as I didn't make it too wet it was fine, and if it did run it was quite easy to remove with a dab of water on the brush. Here's a closer look at the image, I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and am getting better at colouring and shading I think.
Look what I got from the lovely Laura (faerielore) from the docrafts forum! Thanks Laura, I don't have any Tilda's so will enjoy using that image especially!

Another card to upload, this time not using any stamps at all, i made a small birthday card using my nestabilities dies and some downloaded paper from http://www.shabbyprincess.com/ (I love that site). I've also used prima flowers and a computer generated sentiment.
I also decorated the inside with papers and primas. And i got my first comment, thanks for dropping by Sue! If anyone else drops by then leave a comment to let me know you were here. X

Image Swap

I'm quite excited to be participating in my first image swap, I got a pm from a docrafts member about some pennyblack mice stamps I have and got asked to do an image swap, I cant wait to see what new images I'll have to use, I also joined myself onto the swap on the forum so hopefully soon I'll have lots of new stamped images to play with!

I made the card my mum requested for my little cousin and have posted a picture of it below, I've still got to do the inside but I'm not sure about it yet, comments are welcome!
I've also been using my new whipper snapper stamp Leah, I like this card and image a lot so decided to keep this card on my desk to brighten it up a bit. I used prima flowers, die cut swirls, ribbon, die cuts sentiment and brads from my stash and papers from DCWV Text Prints Stack. I water coloured the image with whispers pens.

yay my ceiling is being fixed!

Well after having this hole in my ceiling for the past few months

its finally being fixed today! So I had to take a few days off work and stay in all day whilst Keith the workman fixes it, so what else can I do but craft all day! I've been asked by my mum to make a 21st birthday card for my 'little' cousin (he's about a foot taller than me but I still call him my little cousin!), he lives in Germany and is fanatical about the England football team so she wants it to show this in some way- err I have no idea what to do yet but will post a picture of it when I've done it.

In the mean time in true Blue Peter style, here's one I made earlier.I made it for no reason other than I wanted to use my new Ladies Devine Penny Black stamp, I found it really difficult to colour the stamped image and this was the third attempt, I'm glad I got it right this time or I would have probably given up! The patterned paper is from the K&Company Berry Sweet pad, the ribbon is from doodlebug, gromlets are the ones i got with my big bite, the flowers are prima and the paper is from my stash.

My Lovely Mum

Look at what my lovely mum bought me when we went to the Art Stamps show at Newbury!

I haven't had a chance to use all the stamps yet but have made the below card using a stamposaurus stamp called princess 2. The sentiments come from a will 'n way set called Fairy Dust, the papers are from inspirations, nestabilities circles and scalloped circles, prima flowers, die cut swirls and ribbons and gems from my stash. I raised the girls body from the wings and filled them with iridescent glitter glue. You can see my love of flowers, ribbon and brads! I use them on nearly every card I make at the moment!

The same papers have been used as on the front This as the inside and I have cut the bottom edge with my wavey trinner blade, I added a die cut heart I found in my die cuts draw and a gem.

Hello world!

Wow my first blog! I don’t quite know what I’m doing yet but bear with me! This blog is to showcase some of my card that I make and when my lovely boyfriend who’s camera I borrowed brings me the cable to connect it to the computer (so technical I know!) I will put some of my recent cards up.
