Happy Birthday Mum

It was my mums birthday on Tuesday so I thought I would share the card I made for her with you all.

The papers are from a digiscrap download from 2peas, the letters are 'adapted' from chipboard letters (I say adapted because I added the swirly bit to the 1st m), the hearts are from a cuttle bug die, they have been glittered with doodlebug sugar coating. The sentiment is computer generated, bottom flowers are prima hydrangeas with a rose on top, and the rest is from my stash. I decorated and did a verse in the inside but didn't have time to photograph it. The colours are not actually as bright as they looks in the above photo.

DoCrafts Project Of The Week

A while ago I was approached by Docrafts to make a card using some goodies they sent me for their 'project of the week'. It's now showing on their home page!!!!! Here is the link if anyone wants a look, feel free to leave me a comment on the docrafts page as well! All the products used are listed on the docrafts website so I wont rewrite them here. It was quite hard for me to only use the docrafts products, and hope you all like it! Also anyone is free to use the design of the card to make your own as that is the point of the project of the week to give crafters some ideas on what to do with the products. Can anyone tell I'm really excited hehe, I saw it on there while I was at work, I don't think anyone else at work was that impressed though :( x

I used Funky fairys Cherish and Hope papers which are available here , the image is from elzybells, The sentiment is computer generated and says Once upon a time.I wanted to make a whimsy fairytale card with trailing roses and vines, and one that the more you looked at it the more little elements you see. I coloured the image with sparkly watercolour paints and whispers pens.

You can join in the challenge via the forum here, there is a great prize on offer so good luck!

Vintage Christmas bag

I made this little gift bag using the tutorial from here. I used cream card and embossed it with the snowflakes cuttlebug folder, added a red/burgundy flower, gold brad and a matching bow.
Thank you to Helen for this award, I would like to give it to everyone who left a lovely comment on my last post about my new single status! So it goes to Elaine, Vicky, Laura, Lyndsey, Joy, Lesley, Mar g, Gina, Lana, Sarita, Pauline, Nessie and Rica, the wording that goes along with the award is: 'This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement . Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers. Deliver this award to 8 bloggers who may then pass it on.'

Quick Cuttlebug Cards

I've not been doing much crafting at the moment, I split up with my boyfriend this week so I've not been in the mood to craft much, although at least I'll have more spare time to craft now, see there's a bright side to most things! A bloke asked me out for a drink while I was doing my food shopping in Tesco the week before, I was so shocked! Im thinking now that I should have said yes! Hahaha.

I thought I'd share with you a set of very quick thank you cards which I made quite a while ago, they are very plain and simple, which as you have seen is not usually my style!
They were made just by embossing the top 2/3 of the card with the embossing folders, scoring 2 lines to fit the ribbon and sentiment in, then embossing the bottom 1/3. The sentiments are stamped in a colour that matches the ribbons. I cut a slit each side of the sentiment then threaded the ribbon underneath it, wrapped the ribbon around the card and tied it in a bow.

Psychic Sarah

Have you been over to the Sugarnellie blog lately? the new designer is Suzanne of Gorjuss, who I mentioned in this post, wow I must be psychic, or just know great talent when I see it! I will defiantly be buying some of her stamps, I was thinking of investing in a picture of hers for my craft room, I love the picture of the girl on a unicorn.

Anyways on to today's card. Its for an order so not for my brother, I still have yet to make all my Christmas cards!
I used a DL card, chipboard letters as templates onto DCWV card stock, then glittered them in red Doodlebug Sugar coating. The paper is from Dovecraft.

Cheddar

Meet Cheddar the cute little mouse, he is from Sugarnellie and you can buy him here. Isn't he the cutest little mouse.
I used papers and the frame from Summertime Designs gratitude kit, prima flowers and chatterbox ribbon, the leaves are from my stash. The flowers I added a gromlet to the centres then stuck a pearl gem in them, I also added one to the bottom corner of the frame. I put gloss on the border, the mouse's nose and his book cover. I coloured him with whispers pens and then shaded the darker bits with a pencil as I couldnt quite get the shade of grey I wanted, I then added highlights with a white gel pen.

I've been looking at some amazing blogs of peoples art work, I really wish I could draw, but sadly I cannot draw at all, not even stick men! Here are some of my faves:
Little Gorjuss Things
My Place Over The Hill
May Ann Licudine
Donna Doodles

Advent Calendar

I took a break from making Christmas cards and made an advent calendar for my mum, I haven't given it to her yet so she'll see it here before she gets it~ sorry mum, hope you like it! I got the idea from here but didn't have 24 matchboxes, in fact I had one, so i undid it and used it as a template to cut out 24 from cream card (which is why some of them are a bit wonky so don't look too closely!

Now all I have to do is think of small things to put in it!
The papers I used are from nitwits, lettering is from sizzix Curlie Girlie die set, flowers are prima, buttons are doodlebug, everything else is from my stash.

Christmas cards

No I haven't run off and got married, these cards are for an order I've got to do before the 29th November eek! The papers are from Shabby Princess, stamp is forever friends, sentiment is made on the computer.

I didn't have any pink Christmasy papers, and as this is for a 3yr old I wanted to do it girly, so I used some scrapbook paper I had and stuck snowflakes to it, I think it looks ok. Image is from PC Crafter, sentiment is made on the computer, snowflakes are from an xcut punch.

Pink Sunflower, Julie and Craft Stamper all have blog candy so go check it out.

Funky Fairys DT Member

I was asked by Shaz if I would consider joining the Funky Fairy's design team, they had a DT call and I didn't enter as I totally forgot I'd seen it, so she sent me an email asking if I wanted to- how cool is that!!! Don't get me started on forgetting things, this week I got to work, which is about half hour from my home, and realised when I sat down at my desk I'd forgotten my lap top and left it at home!! I'd like to say that its an unusual thing for me to do but to be honest its about the third time Ive done it in the last 4 years~ oops!
Anyway whilst on the subject of work someone on my team got some management award or something and my boss wanted to give them a medal as a joke (well I think its as a joke and if its not I might ask why I'm not getting any medals! Actually after telling you about the laptop thing its quite clear I will never be in line for any medals!!!). So some other bright spark on my team said Sarah's crafty (I do hope they meant in the crafting sense and not in the sneaky sense!) I'll ask her to do one. So I was asked and thought yep easy peasy I'll cut two nesties circles out and stick a bit of ribbon to it. Oh no it couldn't be that simple could it, I got a text yesterday saying can I make it in the shape of an MBE and add the words 'Services Beyond The Call Of Duty' so after much internet searching and brain racking here it is:

and here is what a real one looks like:Sorry about the pictures, gold card does not photograph well, Oh and its meant to be silver but I didn't have any silver card. If they don't like it its tough as it took me forever last night the work out how to do it! All that effort for a joke!!!
