Grandad's Birthday Card

Finally I have finished my Grandad's birthday card! It's taken me all day on and off, I had to keep coming back to it as I really didn't know what to do with it. I'm quite pleased with the result, although don't look too closely as I accidentally put my finger in the glossy accents I used on the water when it was drying- oops.
Its a 8x8 sized card (made from an A3 sheet of blue card cut to size). The letter are chipboard covered with doodlebug sugarcoating, the papers are DCWV. The stamp is a new one I bought at Ally Pally yesterday, its by Rubberneckers and was only £3- what a bargain!

The sentiments are computer generated, it says you're good at so many things.. But you're best at being my grandad. This is the inside:

New Goodies- again oops!

I made a last minute decision to go to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show at Ally Pally yesterday, and boy am I glad I did, I spent all my money, but look at the lovely goodies I got!
I'm off now to use my new frog fishing stamp to make a birthday card for my grandad- yes I've still not done it, I'm not good at men's cards!

Second post of the day.

I just wanted to upload this card I made with my new stamp from Funky Kits designed by Elisabeth Bell called Pen Pal, water coloured with whispers. The paper is Homespun by A Tanabe and was downloaded a while ago, unfortunately i cannot find a link for it now. Flowers are Primas, the charm is from an old bracelet.
I think it needs a sentiment on the bottom left corner but cant decide what to put so will wait until I have a use for it and then decide what to put there.

Award and Tagged

Firstly I must apologise to Pauline who tagged me a while ago and I completely forgot about it until now! I must also thank her for the two awards she has given me.

First the tag, this is the first time I've been tagged Here are the rules:

1. Link your tagger and list the rules on your blog
2. Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog some random, some weird.
3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
4. Let them know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

I really hate talking about myself but I'll try my best to think of 7 facts about myself (I don't even think there are 7 interesting things about me!!)

1. I have converted my spare room into a craft room and spend most of my time in there!
2. I can touch my nose with my tongue- (eugh you really wanted to know that I know!)
3.I like to drink wine and have just spilt red wine down the front of my yellow top :(
4. If I told you all what I do for a living you'd avoid me like the plague! Haha OK then I'm a VAT inspector!!! Have been for the last 4 years since I left Uni.
5. The first card I made was for my God Daughters christening about 4 years ago.
6. I'm addicted to buying stamps at the moment (and ribbon and brads)
7. I have so much craft stuff that's 'too good to use' that I look at and put away again, I hate cutting up my pretty papers so use a lot of downloaded ones!

I know the rules say to tag 7 blogs but I'm gonna break the rules and tag just three as I really have to get on and make my Grandad a birthday card tonight! So I'm tagging Vicky, Natalie and Mar G

Now for the awards:

first is the "Wylde Women" award:

The purpose of it is to send love to and acknowledge women who brighten your day, teach you new things and live their lives fully with generosity and joy.

The rules are:
1 You can give it to one or one hundred and any number in between - your choice.
2. Make sure you link to their site.
3. Link back to this blog site http://www.tammyvitale.com/ so Tammy can visit all these wonderful women.
4. Remember the purpose of the award.

I love blog hopping and am sure most people have this award but am giving it to the same people who I've tagged Vicky, Natalie and Mar G

Secondly, Pauline has given me the JAVABLU award.

The rules are:
1. The winner can put the logo in her/his blog.
2. Put a link back to the person who gave you the award.
3. Nominate at least 5 persons with a blog, but first you have to tell why you want to give it to those persons.
4. Put a link to those you have nominated.
5. Visit the blogs to the nominees and tell them you gave them an award!

Well, as I have already received this award I'm going to give it to all who visit my blog as a thank you for stopping by so feel free to put in on your own blogs.

Once again thank you to Pauline as its always nice for someone to acknowledge my little blog.

Ribbon and lace

Funky Fairy's challenge #34 is to use ribbon and lace on your cards, well the ribbon was no problem as I usually always put ribbon on my cards, but after rummaging through my ribbons bag the only bit of lace I had was brown. Now I have nothing against brown when used in the right place but for the whole card to be based around this brown bit of lace I was quite uninspired. Anyway I decided to use it instead of buying more and set about trying to find something to make it less dull. I found this gorgeous paper in the Funky Fairy's Blue Xmas download which i thought would work a treat with the brown lace.
The swirl is hand cut as are the base flowers, I then added primas on top of them. The letters are brown chipboard ones from a Brenda Pinnick scrapbook kit covered in brown sugar coating from doodlebug. The frame the text is in is also from the Blue Xmas kit from Funky Fairy's and the birthday text is from a stamp set (but I threw the packaging away so cant remember the manufacturer). The ribbon is from chatterbox.
Thanks for looking, as always comments are welcome.

Penny Black For a Spin...

I used my new Penny Black stamp that my mum bought me to make a card for my docrafts image swap partner. I think I might have over embellished it a bit but I love detail on cards and don't do minimal, what do you think?I used whisper pens to colour the image. The flowers are made from templates and inspiration from Scrap This! I glittered the edge of the nesties and 3D'd the image on foam pads, I also glossed over the tyres. The papers are from Summertime Designs energy kit. I've also added a little pocket in the inside to put the stamped images into.

I won!

I won the Funky Fairy's Sketch challenge #33 with my bear card! I've chosen the Sweet Chloe stamp and cant wait for it come so I can start using it.

New goodies and a get well card

I went to the Creative Crafts show at Sandown today with my mum. We've been three times now to the Sandown shows and this time it was a little disappointing, I was hoping to get some Magnolia, Sweet Ebony or Sarah Kay stamps but not one stall had them. It all seemed to be Papermania products. My lovely mum bought me a daylight lamp that clips onto my desk and a penny black stamp, I also got brads, ribbon, clips and snow writer, we still had a lovely day. Here's a picture of my goodies:
I also have a card to show you, I made this last night, the noise was awful again. The image is from Fun Draw, its so cute, I coloured it with Whispers pens. The papers are from Summertime Designs, flowers are prima and have buttons stuck in the middle with ribbon tied through and a pin in one, the sentiment is from a stamp set and i cut the corners with a fiskars punch.
And some close ups:

Thanks for looking x

Funk Fairy blog challenge # 33

This card is for the Funk Fairy's sketch challenge. The patterned papers are downloaded from funky fairys inspirations blog, the rules are that you have to use something from Funky Fairy's on your card. The image is from PC Crafters welcome sample and its by Laurie Furnell, Daisy Bears I think. I sprayed it with hair spray to fix the ink and stop it running then water coloured it with whispers brushstorkes, the flowers are primas.

New watermark

The noise here in my craft room is absolutely horrendous at the moment due to some bright spark from the council deciding that in order to avoid disruption to traffic they would close the road outside my flat and resurface it between the hours of 7pm and 7am Friday, Saturday and Sunday!!!!! They only started an hour ago and I'm already nearly tearing my hair out, its so loud, I have the windows shut but they have 4 diggers and god knows how many pneumatic drills going, and this is gonna go on all night for 3 night!? I think someone may have a full inbox of complaints to deal with on Monday morning.

Anyway to take my mind off the noise I've turned my music up and have been having a play with a making a watermark for my pictures. I made the card below a few days ago because I wanted to use my new stamp. I think the watermark on this picture is too bright
So I've made it a bit more transparent on the below images and a bit smaller and think it looks better. The card is made using a CC design Glam Girl Frankie stamp, water coloured with whispers markers, the paper is from DCWV Teen Prints Paper Stack, the ribbon is some old sticky ribbon that the stickiness had dried up on from papermania, the flowers i made from punches and then shaped with an embossing tool, the sentiment is from a digikit I downloaded (but I cant remember where from- sorry).

Leah

I've made two different cards using this stamp, The first is made with spring type colours, I think the papers were free with a magazine, the stamp is whipper snappers Leah, the flowers are prima and have been glittered with my new sugar coating from doodlebug, which is sooo scrummy and looks too nice to use, the button is also doodlebug.
The second card has been done using the same stamp but has a more autumnal feel to it. the papers are 'Robyn' from Reminisce, I originally bought them to use for men's cards, but saw a card using similar papers on a girly card and so thought I'd give it a go. The flowers are the same prima ones used in the above cards but have been coloured with my ink pads to match the paper, it the first time I've tried this and think it worked quite well, they have also been glittered with sugar coating. The buttons are from my stash, and the dog is another whipper snappers stamp called 'little puppy' I got it from the same ebay seller as the stamp i used in the last post, it was such a good price I couldn't say no to myself!

Ive used my nesties for the circle and scalloped circle, I've also inked the edge of the cards to match the papers used. Leah and the little puppy are on foam pads, as are the circle mats she's on. I've used glossy accents on her shoes, the teddy's nose and the dog's nose.

Working It Out

This gorgeous stamp is from Whipper Snapper, I got it this week along with a Little puppy one from a great ebay seller, it was so cheap I had to get it!
I used Making Memories multipack maddi papers with it and a computer generated sentiment using AIDancingEgypt font, It says 'I keep trying to lose weight but it keeps finding me!' so true in my case! I have so many sentiments to use with this stamp, I think I'm gonna be using it a lot!
I added iridescent glitter glue to the sweat beads (and learnt not to do that till the end as i smudged it across her face more than once!) The embellishments were all from my stash, dovecraft ribbon, doodlebug buttons.

My mum asked me to make her a card for my nans birthday, so here it is. I've used papers from Summertime Designs once again, ribbon from chatterbox, buttons, pin and pearls from stash, prima flowers, computer generated sentiment using ASL Script font, chipboard letters from a Brenda Pinnick kit. And some close ups:

My mum wanted a sentiment for the inside so i chose this one and decorated it with the same papers:

Shabby Chic engagement

I've gone all Shabby Chic at the moment and am adding pins and buttons to everything! My mum asked me to make and engagement card for her best friends son, who is marrying a girl I went to school with and haven't seen in years- so I tried my hardest to make it good! What do you think?

And the inside.

Papers are free downloads from Summertime Designs Beautimous kit, computer generated wording with the font ASL Script, ribbon from chatterbox, prima flowers, heart cut with a template from perfect petals from craftwork cards, glittered with an iridescent glitter (I love using glitter but end up with it everywhere so don't use it very often!) button and pin are from my stash, added a bead to the end of the pin so its not sharp.

I even decorated the envelope and back of the card!
