Pink and Brown

Firstly apologies for the lack of posting lately!

I have had an order from a friend for some birthday and wedding cards, one of which is needed ASAP so I have made this one tonight based on a card I made here but using pink and brown.
For this card I used papers and frame from Funky Fairys, sizzix swirl die, prima flowers with papermania brads in the centres, chipboard letters with brown doodlebug sugar coating on.
Thanks to all who left a comment on my last card, the ribbon blossom tutorial can be found here for those who asked.
I'm off to the Make It show at Farnborough on Friday afternoon, so if anyone else is going let me know and we may bump into each other!

Cards For Baby Emily

Emily is my brothers niece and she is gorgeous! My mum asked me to make a card to give to her for her 1st Christmas, and I have made one for myself to give her.

This one uses nitwits papers and elements from the Joyful Hearts Collection. I used the snowman from the kit and added wire arms and clear gloss on his nose and buttons.

The second one I have used a Sarah Kay stamp called My Sweet Lili, papers from funky fairys lets get traditional kit and Hot Off The Press Cardmakers Christmas Creative Pack. The lettering is from a Sizzix die called Monde de Blonde, and the swirl is from a Sizzix die called Swirly.

This is also my entry for the dutch dare challenge which was to use scalloped edges on your card.

Thank you to Laura who gave me this blog award, I will have to have a think about who to pass it on to.
And the winner of the stickers was Annette AKA Sandra from the docrafts forum so I will send them out ASAP. x

Funk Fairy Challenge # 44

Firstly sorry for the lack of updates and secondly sorry this is a day late, I'm off work sick at the moment with a horrible cold. I made this at the last minute, its ok but I'm not that pleased with it, its a bit plain. When I feel better I might take another look at it and see if I can improve it, I think it needs some sparkle somewhere.

I used the Funk Fairy Sketch which can be found here on the forum. The papers are from the free blue Christmas kit that can be found on the inspiration blog here.

I coloured the image with sparkly watercolour paints and whispers pens.

Double post, Funky Fairys challenge

Double post again today- sorry about that, just had to upload my card for the funky fairy's challenge #35 before it was too late. It was a sketch challenge and had to be a non traditional Christmas card.
I used funky fairy papers from the blue it, the image is a pc crafter download and is Santa's helpers by Shelly Comiskey, who also designs for whippersnapper stamps- which I love, so I was so pleased to see these on pc crafter, watercoloured with whispers pens. the swirls are my new spell binders dies that i got at Ally Pally, the snow flakes are punches from x cut and fiskars. I put snow writer over the snowy bits and covered it with doodlebug sugar coating. The text stamp is from Stamposaurus.

Ribbon and lace

Funky Fairy's challenge #34 is to use ribbon and lace on your cards, well the ribbon was no problem as I usually always put ribbon on my cards, but after rummaging through my ribbons bag the only bit of lace I had was brown. Now I have nothing against brown when used in the right place but for the whole card to be based around this brown bit of lace I was quite uninspired. Anyway I decided to use it instead of buying more and set about trying to find something to make it less dull. I found this gorgeous paper in the Funky Fairy's Blue Xmas download which i thought would work a treat with the brown lace.
The swirl is hand cut as are the base flowers, I then added primas on top of them. The letters are brown chipboard ones from a Brenda Pinnick scrapbook kit covered in brown sugar coating from doodlebug. The frame the text is in is also from the Blue Xmas kit from Funky Fairy's and the birthday text is from a stamp set (but I threw the packaging away so cant remember the manufacturer). The ribbon is from chatterbox.
Thanks for looking, as always comments are welcome.

Funk Fairy blog challenge # 33

This card is for the Funk Fairy's sketch challenge. The patterned papers are downloaded from funky fairys inspirations blog, the rules are that you have to use something from Funky Fairy's on your card. The image is from PC Crafters welcome sample and its by Laurie Furnell, Daisy Bears I think. I sprayed it with hair spray to fix the ink and stop it running then water coloured it with whispers brushstorkes, the flowers are primas.
